OKanePictureOriginally a translator of French and Spanish, I changed career in my late twenties to follow my passion and become a full-time artist. I am largely self-taught, but have undertaken part-time studies at the Art Students League of New York, and at the Fl

orence Academy of Art in Italy. I’m fortunately able to continue to indulge my love of cycling and dogs.

I am now a sculptor and painter based in Dublin, Ireland. I divide my time between fulfilling commissions for portrait and figurative sculptures (usually cast in bronze), carving less formal stone sculptures (always more abstract than my bronze work), and also painting architectural subjects and cityscapes in watercolour. I am best known for my six-foot bronze of Irish tenor John Count McCormack in

Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens. Collectors of my work include The Irish Embassy in Washington DC, The National Library of Ireland, Shannon Airport and The International Rugby Board.             http://www.elizabethokane.com/
