I was a backwoods camper and needed rope and knots to survive in no man’s land, and when I picked up the Ashley book about 20 years ago, that is when the light dawned on how to tie the finer knots. I’m all self-taught from ABOK and I prefer to work with natural rope. When I saw in ABOK that there was a “Guild” I became a member. My first meeting was the Silver Jubilee. We had nothing in Canada and I did not know about the USA meetings until I got a computer. Now I have a lot of meetings under my belt and will be tying to the end.
