Solomon Man

To make Solomon Man, you need 1 metre of jute or cotton string.

  1. Make foot loops 100mm from the middle. Click to see full size image for Step 1

  3. Second half knot, opposite to the first one completes a flat (square) knot. Click to see full size image for Step 3
  4. Pull tight leaving loops for feet. Click to see full size image for Step 4
  5. Next half knot, opposite to the last one. Pull tight. Keep core straight. Click to see full size image for Step 5
  6. Continue half knots - each one opposite to the previous one. Stop with 40mm loop for head. Click to see full size image for Step 6

Try different materials and colours. Flat knots on a core are also called Solomon bars - hence our friend's name.
