Six Knot Challenge
The Six Knot Challenge is to tie six elementary knots against the clock. Guild members often hold this as a fun event at shows. It proves popular with all ages, and provides an opportunity for hands-on learning for children as young as seven.
The world record, set by Clinton Bailey Sr., is an astonishing 8.1 seconds. Under 20 seconds is pretty good - under 15 is very good indeed. For more information on Clinton Bailey's record, see Peter Suber's website, Knots on the Web.
